UNIVERSAL was established 1n 1983 under the legal name, Universal Steel Trading Corp., to sell as a steel trader to the steel distributors in Puerto Rico. Soon after, UNIVERSAL changed its business strategy and became an industrial distributor for pipe, valves and fittings in PR and the Caribbean market.
During the past 34 years, UNIVERSAL has grown into the largest supplier of pipes, valves and fittings in our market with the biggest inventory. Our inventory of close to $4 million dollars consist of more than 8,000 SKU’s in Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper, Plastic, MDPE, Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, SDR35 and DR14 pipes and fittings.
